I wish I could have stayed longer!
We spent a delightful early April week in Florence with this apartment as a home away from home. The location is good: conveniently close to downtown and the train station, yet far enough from those things that it was quiet and neighborhoody. The apartment felt very Italian and old-fashioned (in a good way) with heavy dark furniture, cold marble floors, thick shutters to keep out noise and heat. We weren't home a lot because there is so much to see in Florence, but by far the most time we spent when at home and awake was in the kitchen, enjoying the prospect of the sunny garden with its beautiful tree. It's great to stay in a rental apartment with well-stocked kitchen equipment, including a truly sharp knife and a proper coffee pot! (moka style) Having a washing machine and a garden to dry the laundry in was also a huge plus -- we were able to travel with very light luggage as a result of being able to wash things easily. (Note, it is a European-style washing machine and takes a lot longer than Americans are used to. The door also won't open right away when the cycle finishes, but that's normal -- it does eventually.) This is the second apartment I have rented from Paolo (the other in Venice) and I have found him to be kind, responsive and full of integrity.

Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

A very convenient apartment in Florence
We spent a very enjoyable week in Florence at Magenta apartment in Via Magenta. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. There was a well-stocked small supermarket a few minutes' walk away and also restaurants. We came by car and paid a small extra charge for parking in a space outside in the private road. We liked being able to walk around Florence easily from the apartment. The arrangements were very well organised by Paolo, with the key arriving in good time, the beds made up and plenty of towels provided. We hope to return some day.

Magenta apt.
We had a wonderful stay in Florence and we enjoyed the apartment. It's perfect for a family, The rooms spacious and the kitchen well stocked. It was too cold to enjoy the outside garden though. The location was quiet, convenient and we had a wonderful week in Florence and touring the surounding areas. Siena was an especially lovely trip. We hope to make it back soon.

Oasis in the heart of Florence
We stayed at the Magenta apartment the first week of Oct. 2009. We strolled along the Arno, enjoyed warm afternoons in the Piazzas, and visited many of the great treasures of Florence - all within walking distance of the apartment. After long days touring the magnificent city, the apartment was a welcoming "home". We drank delicious wine and ate caprese salads in our private garden. Paolo is wonderful to work with - he is trustworthy, fair and kind. I can't say enough about this experience. It was the perfect location, with all the amenities you expect from a home (clean linens, towels and all the kitchenware to make delicious food). I will definitely visit Florence again, and I will definitely contact Paolo again.

Delightful stay in Magenta Apartment
The apartment is in a safe area less than a 10 minute walk from the train station, about 20 minutes to the center of the tourist area, and 5 minutes to the Arno. Grocery store, restaurants, etc. are nearby. It is on the ground floor and what makes it so special is the garden. The place is a little worn, but very comfortable. Paolo is extremely easy to deal with and very responsive.

A Treasure in Florence
We stayed in Magenta apartment for a week in July 2007 on a family trip to Europe. Florence was the highlight of our trip, and the apartment was a big part of making the trip a memorable one. It is located in a quiet area inside the city walls, near the Arno River. We walked to the apartment from the railway station (20 mins) and had no trouble getting in. It is clean, well equipped and furnished, and has the feel of a home rather than an institution. Dealing with Paolo to make the reservation was very easy. We communicated by email, paid by Paypal and he mailed us the keys in plenty of time. The website was informative and described the apartment very clearly. Florence was very hot when we were there, but the apartment was always cool, with its marble floors and high ceilings. The garden was a treat, and we enjoyed having meals and a glass or two of wine under the shade of the tree. We found that the small supermarket just around the corner was able to provide all our needs at prices that were a welcome surprise after Paris. The whole of the old city was within walking distance of the apartment, and we enjoyed the week stolling around the city, visiting the museums and churches, exploring the shops and patronising the restaurants. Highlights for us included the Domo, Uffizi Museum, the Academica, the works of art in the squares and the shops on the Ponte Vecchia. We loved the atmosphere of the town. We were disappointed with the Boboli Gardens: entrance was expensive and the gardens looked run down. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Magenta apartment, and Florence, and have no doubt that we will return to both. Brian

Magenta Apartment
We stayed in this lovely apartment for 2 weeks and it was really a treat to come back from walking miles in very rainy, cool weather to a warm comfortable home away from home. We loved the location. It was close to the train station and a short walk to the center of Florence. It was quiet and very well maintained. I loved the garden but the weather only permitted one sunny day in the garden.Paolo made the entire transaction easy and I have recommended this apartment to many of my friends. There were many wonderful restaurants near by and a very cute little grocery store not far from the apartment. Like spending wonderful days in Florence?
My experience in the apartment was wonderful, located and communicated well, a very calm district, and that garden, where to be able to enjoy a dinner comforting the friendly and to rest of the long strolls by the city. In addition the proprietor, taking care of any problem that arises.

Great Time in Florence
The Magenta Apartment is a great place to stay. The pictures were so true to the apartment. The property was very clean and well maintained. My husband, myself, my parents and my twin daughters stayed their. The surrounding neighbors were very nice. One of the neighbors even made finger puppets for the girls. We loved spending time out in the courtyard and the walk to Florence city center was not to far as well as the walk to the train station. I would highly recommend the Magenta Apartment to friends and family.
